What is digital printing? It is a new technology that prints shirts similar to printing on paper. It is capable of printing multiple colors such as a photograph. The shirt goes into the printer (obviously a special printer) and ink is applied like an inkjet printer. The inks are water based and environmentally friendly. The ink is cured in a heat press to remove all of the moisture and then it is ready to ship. The print is permanent and lasts about as long as the traditional screen printed shirt but has a softer feel. This process is ideal for small orders (1- 24) or for full color prints. There are no film or screen charges because it does not use any to produce. The process is a lot more costly than screen printing but the "per shirt cost" is lower because of not having to charge for the screens.
